Dave Wilson CFM is an IFMA Fellow and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. He is founder and managing director of Effective Facilities Limited.
Dave is a confident and articulate advocate for FM, with particular strength in business management and customer service, supported by many years experience in consultancy and the hospitality industry. He has experience in the facilities market across EMEA and the UK, and high level contacts through his involvement with industry bodies in Europe and the USA. He has worked in Facility and Property Management for over 25 years, from junior consultant through to Board Director.
Dave’s focus is on improving organisational productivity through aligning support services and asset management with organisational objectives and culture, building teams of staff to deliver effective services and focused results, and in leading and managing teams with a focus on their EBIT contribution. He has worked globally on projects in the USA, UK, Europe and the Middle East, for clients as diverse as Reuters, the UK Ministry of Justice, Hong Kong Telecom, Sodexo, Interserve and the Burj Khalifa.
Dave is highly focused and articulate, with good persuasive skills allied with an ability to listen, understand and challenge as required. Excellent communication skills and a uniquely collaborative approach allow Dave to convince and motivate people at all levels from Board to delivery staff to engage in change. He is highly experienced in developing and applying strategic change within corporate organisations, founded on an analysis of corporate requirements and ensuring that services focus on meeting those needs underpinned by exceptional customer service.
Dave has served BIFM as deputy chair and convenor of the international special interest group. For IFMA, Dave is a member of their International Certification Commission and a member of the UK Chapter Board. He is the UK lead on the ISO Standards Technical Committee for FM, convenor of the CEN Standard working group n FM benchmarking, and a member of the BSI FM standards committee.
